Golf

Hi everyone,

Happy Saturday! I don't know about the rest of you but I am happy for such a nice Saturday off from work! Normally today I would be going golfing with my son, but we have  a birthday party to attend instead.

I never could understand golf, why people would spend hours playing. I used to tease my husband about how he would spend hours hitting a ball and then go chase it only to do it all over again.

Then I played it......

And I got hooked!!

The first time I went golfing, it was me and my son and he wanted to go. All we had was a bag of clubs. We had no tees - didn't realize we needed them - and one or two golf balls. We went to a par 3 course that was not busy - thank goodness, we would have been run off the course!

I think I wore flip flops.

Clearly we had no idea what we were doing or getting into.

We had to scour the tee's for broken tees to use! And found a ton of golf balls!

Afterwards, I went straight to the store and bought a cheap bag of clubs to get me started and haven't stopped golfing since.

By the way I have improved and even have my own pair of golf shoes!!

  1. Paula, Your honesty about your thoughts on golf are so funny. I used to say the same thing plus I don't ike waiting my turn. Unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to dive in and check it out. Maybe when we are done with school you can give me a few pointers. I hear it is great exercise

  2. I am terrible at golf, fortunately, there is a 19th hole that keeps me occupied. Here is a lame golf joke: The schoolteacher was taking her first golfing lesson. "Is the word spelled p-u-t or p-u-t-t?'' she asked the instructor. "P-u-t-t is correct,'' he replied. "Put means to place a thing where you want it. Putt means merely a vain attempt to do the same thing." That's all I have for today!

  4. Hahaha Paul! Paula, I try to play but probably would be run off the course so I make sure to pick my times wisely. It's crazy how hard it is but I enjoy the time outside. Keep playing! We want to see you on the women's pro circuit :D

  6. I with Paul, I am terrible at golf. I love your dogs. I have a yellow lab. Our animals are like family. Love them! I bet they end up in your bed.

    1. Heidi, yes they not only end up in my bed but the little one, Roscoe, sleeps under my covers near my feet and the bigger one, Sammy, sleeps next to me like a person. In fact I have a very very small portion of my bed to sleep in!!
